Artist’s Statement: “Where heaven touches earth”
This series of photographic digital artworks explores the theme of surface tension and undercurrents of being, using layered landscapes and skyscapes to explore the liminal spaces between earth and sky, body and spirit, light and shadow. Reflective surfaces and superimposed imagery evoke unseen tensions – between good and evil, physical and spiritual – that shape human experience.
Inspired by Philip Sheldrake’s writings on sacred space, memory, and identity, these works imagine the landscape as a threshold: a sacred in-between where memory is held and meaning is formed. The imagery reflects Sheldrake’s notion of “living between worlds,” inviting viewers to inhabit spaces that resist fixed definition – spaces where presence and absence, time and timelessness coexist.
Each work becomes a contemplative surface where internal and external geographies meet. Through this tension, the series seeks not resolution, but a recognition of the deep undercurrents – spiritual, emotional, and ancestral – that shape who we are and how we remember.
